The First Same-Sex Couple To Get A Vogue Cover In India

The First Same-Sex Couple To Get A Vogue Cover In India

Post by Amiebenomo Nizar | source Fashion

Haima Simoes and Shruti Venkatesh are the first same-sex couple to grace the cover of Vogue India. Is this a whole new chapter for India, or is this just the beginning?
Haima and Shruti aren’t professional models, nor are they huge celebrities, yet they’re the ones who were chosen to champion the LGBTQ+ movement in India by gracing the cover of Vogue. Haima Simoes is a freelancer who works in digital advertising and social media, while Shruti is a developer. Modeling is just a side-hustle for them, but they say it’s a great opportunity.

Going to college in Mumbai was a wonderful time for both women. It was a chance to finally be themselves and meet new friends and like-minded people. Shruti and Haima met in 2017 and since then they’ve been pretty much inseparable. They don’t think of themselves as just a couple, they’re also best friends, they’re a team, and they support each other in everything and they adopted a cat together.
When the pandemic hit India, Shruti and Haima had to separate. 2020 was a challenging year – jobs were lost, apartment rent became a problem, many have been forced to move back in with their family after years of living separately. Haima is spending the pandemic with her family in Goa, and this means that she’s had limited opportunities to see Shruti. It’s only been work-related trips and photoshoots like this one for Vogue

Both women agree that the fashion industry, in general, is the most welcoming industry to LGBTQ+ folk in India, even though it’s not quite perfect and has some drawbacks. There’s a lack of representation that’s very evident. Both women agree that the fashion industry, in general, is the most welcoming industry to LGBTQ+ folk in India, even though it’s not quite perfect and has some drawbacks. There’s a lack of representation that’s very evident.
Being part of the LGBTQ+ community in India is challenging at times. In order to come out and live the life you want to live, one needs to have a solid foundation of support and security, both financial and emotional. It’s no wonder that most of the representation of India’s LGBTQ community is upper-class gay men. They have a certain amount of privilege, while women don’t feel as safe to be at the forefront of this movement because their pool of career opportunities in India is already smaller, and being out can limit it even further.

Anxiety and depression are some of the most common mental health issues, with tens of millions of people suffering from them in the United States alone. While it's common to have emotional ups and downs throughout life, prolonged mental and emotional distress can be a sign of a more serious illness. Anxiety and depression can have a profound impact on work, relationships, and personal life, so it's important to receive a proper diagnosis in order to take the right steps to manage your mental health.

Anxiety and depression can often take different forms depending on age, gender, socialization, and cultural background, as well as personal differences unique to each individual. In men, anxiety and depression often manifest themselves in anger, irritability, and reckless behavior. Women are more likely to exhibit symptoms of depression including feelings of worthlessness, guilt, and persistent fatigue. In children and young adults, symptoms can vary from separation anxiety and clinginess to defiant behavior and trouble in school. For older adults and seniors, depression and anxiety symptoms can include memory loss, substance abuse, and loss of interest in hobbies and activities.

Not sure if you're suffering from depression or anxiety? While mental illness varies from person to person, there are a few common symptoms to be on the lookout for. The more symptoms you experience and the longer you experience them for, the more likely you are to be suffering from a mental illness like anxiety or depression.

Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression

  1. Excessive Worrying

If you find yourself constantly worrying about things, it could be a symptom of anxiety. While some worry is a normal part of everyday life, people suffering from anxiety deal with excessive worry, even about things that might not otherwise seem very important. These worries are often intrusive and affect your thoughts and emotions even when you try your best to ignore them.

  1. Feeling Restless or On Edge

Feelings of unexplained restlessness and tension can be another common symptom of anxiety. This can include a sense of impending doom or disaster, sometimes accompanied by fear or even panic. These feelings can be concentrated on a specific event, like loss of a job or a natural disaster, or they can be more diffuse. If you feel like you're constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, you may be suffering from anxiety.

  1. Muscle Tension

Constantly tense and physically wound up? Muscle tension is a physical symptom that often accompanies mental health issues, including anxiety. This constant tension leaves you feeling sore and physically exhausted, even when you haven't done any other physical activity. This prolonged tension can often be the source of chronic pain and other recurring illnesses, so it's important to nip it in the bud before it becomes more severe.

  1. Feelings of Worthlessness

People suffering from depression often experience a persistent feeling of worthlessness and low self-esteem. This can be a more general feeling or can be related to a specific area such as work, school, or personal relationships. While most people go through periods of self-doubt and uncertainty, the symptoms experienced by those suffering from depression are more intense and tend to persist regardless of external factors.

  1. Excessive Guilt

Similar to feelings of worthlessness, excessive guilt is another common symptom of depression. People can feel guilty for things they have or haven't done, often dwelling on past actions to an unhealthy extent. People can also feel guilty about their mental illness itself and the way it affects their personal and professional lives. These feelings of guilt are compounded by the other common symptoms of depression, such as withdrawal from personal relationships and failure to fulfill obligations at work and school. Guilt over symptoms of depression can be a vicious cycle, so it's important to seek help before you're caught in the spiral.

  1. Withdrawing From Family and Friends

If you find yourself withdrawing from relationships with friends and family, you could be suffering from depression. People with depression often remove themselves from otherwise happy, healthy relationships, and struggle to form new connections with others. They can often feel like a burden to those who care about them, or may simply be too exhausted and overwhelmed to deal with more social interaction. Lack of close relationships can also be a factor that leads to depression, so that social withdrawal can often further exacerbate existing mental illness.

  1. Reckless Behavior

Depression can often manifest itself in reckless behavior, including drug and alcohol abuse and unsafe sex. This can also include risk-taking activities like reckless driving or getting into physical conflicts. More common in men than in women, these behaviors are often dangerous in and of themselves in addition to acting as a warning sign of mental health issues. If you find yourself drawn to reckless behaviors regardless of the consequences, consider seeking help.

  1. Fatigue

One of the most common symptoms of depression and anxiety is fatigue, lethargy, and constant tiredness. If you feel like it's a struggle to get out of bed each morning or do anything other than the bare minimum, it could be a symptom of depression and anxiety. These feelings of tiredness and exhaustion can encompass both physical and mental sensations, and can often have significant negative impacts on your work and life. While chronic fatigue can often have other medical causes, including autoimmune disorders and other issues, it's worth having a professional make sure that you aren't suffering from mental illness.

  1. Changes in Sleep Patterns

Another frequently occurring symptom of both depression and anxiety is a significant change in sleep patterns. This can mean that you're getting much more sleep than you normally would and find it difficult to stay awake throughout the day. It can also manifest as persistent difficulty sleeping, and even insomnia. Other common sleep-related symptoms are trouble falling asleep or waking up earlier than usual. After a stressful or traumatic life event, it's pretty common to deal with disruptions to your sleep. But if these symptoms persist, you could be dealing with a mental health issue. Trouble with sleep can also have an outsized impact on the rest of your day, making it an especially important symptom to combat.

  1. Changes in Appetite

If you find yourself constantly overeating or eating much less than you used to, you could be experiencing another common symptom of anxiety and depression. Changes in appetite often accompany other symptoms like restlessness or fatigue. Anxiety and depression can also occur alongside eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating, making them an especially dangerous combination.

  1. Anger and Irritability

Feeling angry all the time even without a clear reason? Anger and irritability are a common symptom of depression and anxiety, especially among men. These symptoms can often also have a significant impact on your relationships with others, making it more difficult to seek help or get support when you need it.

  1. Physical Pain

While depression and anxiety are mental illnesses, they can often have persistent physical symptoms. Physical pain, including headaches, cramps, and muscle soreness often accompanies other psychological symptoms. If you're in pain and can't identify a clear physical cause, it could be a symptom of an underlying mental issue.

  1. Persistent Sadness

Another hallmark of depression is a persistent feeling of sadness. While it's normal to experience feelings of sadness and melancholy after significant life events, feeling sad constantly can be a sign of something more serious. Whether you find yourself in the throws of despair or just feel like you're in a bad mood all the time without knowing why, you could be suffering from depression.

  1. Trouble Concentrating

If you have trouble concentrating on the task at hand, and instead find yourself constantly worrying about other things or losing focus completely, it could be a sign of anxiety and depression. This symptom can negatively affect work, school, and other areas of performance, and can make it more difficult to perform even basic tasks like preparing meals or completing household chores.

  1. Suicidal Ideation

One of the most serious symptoms of mental health issues, suicidal ideation can take the form of persistent suicidal thoughts or even plans to commit suicide. If you're experiencing symptoms of suicidal ideation, be sure to get in touch with a mental health professional right away. You can reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline online, or call them at 1-800-273-8255.

While any of these symptoms taken individually might not be a sign of mental illness, if you're experiencing several of the above symptoms, you could be suffering from anxiety or depression. The good news is that these illnesses are common and treatable through a variety of methods, including medication and therapy.

It’s not every day that Vogue decides   to interview an animal. But Tika isn’t just any animal. Tika is an Italian greyhound that will stun you with her taste in fashion and her style. She’s the hottest doggy fashionista of the year and a self-proclaimed gay icon. Tika lives in Montreal, Canada, and if you are passionate about fashion and dream of reaching any kind of success in life, you better listen up to what Tika has to say.

Tika has a million followers on Instagram and 1,1m on TikTok, she has her own merch, fans all over the world, and now a feature in Vogue. She’s basically made it. She slays both in photos and videos, she’s a trendsetter and an inspiration.

At this point, we’re pretty sure Tika can get an invite to fashion week in Paris or London if she wanted to. We’re thinking of either front row seats or perhaps even a walk on the runway for a luxury fashion brand

Speaking of fashion brands, in her interview with Vogue, Tika revealed that her dream brand to work with would be Valentino, and her ultimate style icon is Celine Dion.

While most of us are spending our quarantine days in sweatpants Tika still tried to push fashion boundaries and dresses up every day. She’s all about fitted athleisure, and the brighter the better. Tika truly likes mixing colors and textures. You know you’ve got a knack for fashion when instead of dressing basic at home, you go for outfits that could be seen as “too much”. .

Why is Sommer Ray Not famous despite having 25 million followers on Instagram

Why Sommer Ray Is Not Your Average Instagram Model

Post | by Amiebenomo Nizar |source : Fashion moments with niz |

Sommer Ray is a fitness model and social media hit with over 25 million followers on Instagram. You might wonder how a fitness influencer skyrocketed to such fame with these staggering numbers in such a short amount of time, leaving many people asking: who exactly is Sommer Ray?

At the age of 14, Sommer Ray started modeling. Two years later at 16, she became a fitness bikini model, winning first place at the 2015 NPC Colorado State Championship for Teen Bikini.

One of Sommer Ray’s biggest sources of inspiration is her family. As we mentioned, her parents were bodybuilders, and they raised her in a remote farm out in rural Colorado. Her parents are major supported of Sommer and her brand. Ray also has two sisters named Skylyn and Savana, along with a brother named Bronson.

Recently, the 24-year-old posted a video of herself on vacation in Antigua, taking selfies in a floral thong bikini. The model made headlines when she dates rapper Machine Gun Kelly for 3 months. She even insinuated that he “kind of cheated on me with Megan Fox.” Ouch.

Besides that, Ray is famous due to having a foolproof social media and marketing skillset. Also, a bangin’ body and flawless face like hers certainly helps! After her sister’s friend took photos of her, she started getting popular online, and more brands started to reach out for her, asking for sponsored content.

She would fly out to Los Angeles all the time to work and network, growing her fanbase the entire time. Now, she’s an officially successful “Instagram Model” full time. Besides being a fitness model, she trains for the company Fitplan. Fitness has always been important to Sommer — after all, both her parents are ex-bodybuilders and Sommer even experimented in the field herself back in the day. Additionally, she’s an entrepreneur — the workout queen has her own clothing line.

Tina Turner’s Sparkly Stage Looks Are Simply The Best...Also read her biography below

Let's take time back to the early 80's Tina Turner’s Sparkly Stage Looks Are Simply The Best

“There are no rules that say you have to dress a certain way, or be a certain way. We are living in exciting times for women,” Tina Turner said in 2009. It’s a mantra the flamboyant music legend has always stuck to.

Hers is a sartorial legacy that shines a little brighter than most. Since she burst onto the music scene in the ’60s, Turner has dazzled her adoring crowds with liberal amounts of sparkle, as much as her energetic performances and powerful vocals. Thigh-skimming hems and twinkling embellishments – usually in her preferred gold – have seen her through six decades, and more recent ensembles prove she has no intention of hanging up her sequins.

Now 81, the star is the subject of a life-spanning documentary, Tina, released on Sky on 28 March. Described as the “ultimate celebration of a global superstar and an intimate portrait of a woman,” it will mix archive and recent interviews alongside stage performances. Could it be Turner’s swan song to showbiz?

At a time when everyone could do with an extra helping of mood-boosting sparkle — British Vogue takes a second look at some of Tina Turner’s most dazzling fashion moments.

It’s not like Tiffany Haddish wasn’t stunning before her weight loss, but after it, her confidence and swag are absolutely exploding. The 41-year-old turned around her lifestyle with a diet filled with vegetables and workouts every day. She’s lost a total of 40 pounds since she started dating Common last spring. Love is a helluva drug!

2. Wendy Williams

Say what you want about the controversial Wendy Williams, but this talk show host has shed quite a few pounds during the 2020. She enjoys light breakfasts like a bowl of watermelon (as shared on her social media) but does not adhere to any type of strict diet or regiment. She shared with fans: “Many are STILL thinking I’m vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free etc. I am no longer any of them. E Choke: Designer Shares Inspiration Behind Outfit with Hand Design Around His Neck,

Until village people activate the hand” – Reactions as man rocks Davido’s ‘E Choke’ inspired outfit

A Nigerian Twitter user, identified as @Aremupokipoki1, took to the platform to share a photo of himself rocking the outfit which had the design of a hand, perfectly illustrating the catchphrase, “E choke”.
Sharing a photo of himself rocking the creative piece which had a hand reaching for his throat, he captioned the photo, “Who Dey Breeet? e choke.”

The photo has since stirred tons of reactions online, while some netizens applauded the creativity of the designer some worried about the hand actually becoming real and choking the fellow.

See reactions below,

Meanwhile, the singer has declared his intention to get his now-popular catchphrase ‘e choke’ copyrighted.

According to the “Jowo” crooner, it is pertinent that he does this because the usage is getting out of hand.

Admittedly, the phrase has travelled beyond the shores of the country and just a few days ago, Canadian rapper, Drake, was caught on camera using the catchphrase after meeting Davido.

His tweet reads,
